Rangeley, Maine • Ongoing
Tucked into the woods of Rangeley, this Bygg project is a small, high-performance ADU designed to honor the land it sits on. With land and access in place, the focus is on thoughtful, minimal-impact construction—how little can we disturb the landscape while building something beautiful and durable?
This project is currently in the site planning phase. In the meantime, I’m kicking things off closer to home with a garage apartment build in Skowhegan—using that project to refine the training model and hands-on approach that will carry into Rangeley.
Youth Build Summer Camp • June 2024
I led a weeklong “Ready, Set, Build!” youth camp that introduced project management and building-science fundamentals through hands-on construction. I created an illustrated workbook to guide campers through key concepts in an accessible, playful way. Campers were divided into four teams, each responsible for designing one wall of an 8′ × 8′ play structure.
Day one focused on design, teamwork, and understanding the scope of the project. By day two, the campers’ sketches had been turned into a 3D model of their collective design, and teams began assembling wall sections while learning the parts and purpose of framing. On day three, the walls went up. The siding — ironically, the longest step — wrapped up just in time for everyone to climb in and play inside the finished structure on the final day.
